Spotted this bad ass 2500. It was manual, and he gave me a show. I heard the turbo sounds, and was like, show me a little something.

So sometimes you gotta post your every day spottings...like Chucky and his 63/64 Impala. Or the paradigm turd gen boat or the 80s nascar clone of someone who likes jeans too much

Oh the res is classy as ever...

really? I didn't think they were expensive to rebuild, coupled to how durable they are. I thought tons of them see 300k without engine-out servicing.
Lol 300k without engine out. Stop reading Jalopnik. I'm not meaning specific prices but a full rebuild service will be around what a new base Civic costs. Nothing air cooled or even liquid cooled P car is cheap or inexpensive

I actually don't read Jalopnik at all. But I've never serviced anything like that either. Juste heresay I guess.

But if you don't mind me asking, what's expensive on an air-cooled Porsche? Aren't they relatively simple and easy to work on? Isn't there quite a big aftermarket for pretty much anything air-cooled? I genuinely thought they were pretty over-engineered and didn't need much attention compared to their later water-cooled generations.

My father had to throw around 10k on the engine at 95k miles. He sold it for 10k more too, so not a big deal. It was a 89, I think that the late models had better seals or something like that.

And then there's all the electronics that can fail and cost a fortune.

The galvanized body is really durable, you can winter drive a 964 without rust issues in the short term.

There are no real electronics on those cars. 40$ DME relay is about the worst that fails or the immbolizer which can be by-passed
