    Helical Technology Speed 12 Turbo - A TVR reborn...with a turbo

What a time to be alive.

    http://www.helical-technology.com/rd...car-project-3/

Helical has built two bespoke prototype supercars inspired by the TVR Cerbera Speed 12. The Mk1 GT Racecar is naturally-aspirated, the Mk2 GT Roadcar is turbocharged. The Speed 12 Turbo comes under TR-Supercars brand (previously known as TBR Speed 12 Turbo) and features a twin-turbo 6.0-litre dry sump V12 engine developing 1012bhp, resulting in a 0-60mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 218mph.

Helical’s venture into supercar manufacture has provided the opportunity to develop and test new technologies such as carbon fibre composites, acoustic electronic exhaust valves, titanium exhaust system, sound enhancement technologies and other blue sky R&D projects.

The Supercars also act as dynamic test rigs to test the product design iterations in real-life scenarios, where the driving dynamics factor is a valued addition over standard test equipment in the laboratories.

Modern turbocharged engines have lost the desired sound quality that customers yearn for and Helical is striving to develop a natural pleasing normally aspirated V-engine sound from today’s modern turbocharged engines.

inb4 the new Corvette steering wheel is nicer.
Any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy.

The problem with cars like this is they only work in Great Britain because when it falls apart you take it back to the shed it was built in vs having to pay someone like me to figure out how to fix it then it sits around the shop while you wait for some obscure part here. This has always been the problem with low production, small garagist cars. You got to love the UK though, you can put lights on a mattress and call it a car then drive it around.

i'm only about £1.195M short of buying one and having it serviced by Momentum.

I think they took a Citroen Cactus rear light housing. I find it looks great.

Quite an improvement over the original imo.

I've always loved TVRs for what they were (very light, powerful, raw unadulterated driving machines) but god damn their styling was sometimes atrociously eccentric.
