150$ a plate is minium what it costs these days. My sister got had hers at some auberge. 60 people, they had to source catering, dj etc all on their own. Still cost 20k. As I said before paying the venue is the easiest part. It's all the little things that add up quickly.

You don't have an event in hopes of making money. It's something you hold for friends/family because you want them there

I realised a while ago that usually the people who are all about the quick courtroom weddings aren't very family-centric. They just don't get it.

I got married at Le Toundra a few winter's ago. Came out to about 16k for 100 people.

Pro tip, go to MicroVin in Pointe-Claire and bottle your own wine, and get kegs from Beaus.

Ok mais c’est quoi le symbolisme de se marier devant un faux Elvis, de mettre autant de cash dans deux bijoux et de signer des papiers à l’hôtel de ville, mettons ?

Ceci étant dit, j’aime beaucoup le concept du mariage un peu tout croche à Vegas, mais je ne comprends juste pas l’ensemble de la réflexion.
 
Oubliez pas que le monde donne de l'argent, donc le coût net est pas si élevé, surtout si c'est un gros mariage avec 200+ invités. Ça aide a payer les coûts fixes comme le dj, photographe etc.

Also anyone can officiant a wedding. The paper work is all online for around 50$. My brother in law did ours and sent the papers in. Having it done at the courthouse is 200-300$ and a registered officiant is 400-500$.

The only thing I would have changed is being clearer on the parking at our venue. Lots of people parked on the street but the majority took Ubers.

It was our wedding and we did what we wanted at a venue we liked. Didn't settle on something.

I didn't have the wedding in St Leonard. Not even close lol. And yea I did put the venue on my CC. I got a crap load of points doing so and the venue had no issues accepting it. So why not?

The comparison I made is using my sister's wedding which wasn't many people at some Auberge where they needed to supply everything including catering.. we couldn't be bothered with that.. my wife and sister did make all the decorations/center pieces which took about a year. We saved there but the materials still cost money.

In the end I personally don't care what people think or do.. however they need to be realistic and not pull out random numbers. If you want to have a small event go for it or something on a budget. When I get back home I'll post our spreadsheet

effectivement, je me suis dit la meme chose, pour moi pas chers c'est genre une bague en stainless a 80$ pis si madame est capricieuse 800$ t'as quand meme kek chose de beau, meme si c pas un vrai diamant ou whatever, pour moi c'est juste une valeur spéculative.
 
La règle de la bague est simple. Il faut donner le minimum pour que la fille dise oui et ne te crisse pas là.
 
If she's a keeper she won't care too much about how much the ring costs but just get her something she likes. Just ask her and get something in your price range

Je trouve ca ridicule de quantifié son amour avec un montant faramineux pour une bague, qu'elle va montrée ensuite a tout le monde...check, check, c un vrai diamant j'ai meme un pâpier pour le prouver… du beau n'importe quoi, une fille me fait ca, jla criss la le soir de ses noces. Dans ma tête un mariage c'est un gros party pour célébrer l'union de 2 personnes.

Je voulais acheter une bague a ma blonde depuis un temps.


Son pere est décédé cette été, elle était tres proche et ca l'a beaucoup marqué. Parcontre son pere était un géologue et il avait une collection incroyable de pierre précieuse et de minéraux. Il avait aussi une certaine quantité d'or brute qu'il avait ramassé quand il prospectait et travaillait dans les mines d'or dans le nord du Québec.

J'ai donc eu l'idée de prendre des pièces de sa collection et d'avoir voir un bijoutier pour qu'il fabrique la bague avec l'or de son père et ou autre minéraux pertinant .


Est-ce faisable ou on prend ce qu'il y a dans les tablettes?
 
C'est faisable. La bague de mariage de ma femme est composé de plusieurs diamants dont certains qui viennent d'un héritage familiale.
