Chernobyl HBO

It was the Soviet doctrine at the time to contain any disaster within their own borders. Something like a meltdown can't be. It was just a matter of time before the world knew. Once it broke they were scrambling

If anything it showed just how unprepared the Soviet Union was to deal with a large scale issue.

Just binged it last night out of boredom and man they had a lot of things spot on. The ignorance of people in power, any power. How unqualified people run things thinking they know what they are doing because they got the title. How the truth gets silenced, how you have to be in line with the system or you get destroyed. How real science is ignored by people not having a clue about anything. Growing up in a socialist/communist country I've seen these first hand and I couldn't believe how well they showed the truth.

Something for the wannabe socialist/communist morons in Western countries to think about, because once the system takes over you'll not have any say about anything anymore. For example it was illegal for us to be unemployed, you got 30 days after you left a job to find another. After 30 days if you get caught by one of the random "stop and ID" by cops (very common for no reason at all), you go to jail and you will work at one of the government owned manufacturing companies. We had to carry a small book that had your picture and all our info, including where you work and if you didn't then when was the last day you've worked.

It was actually a good mini series.
