Car care for brand new car

What should I do when I take possession of a new car next week?

I'm sure the dealer will do a quick wash to clean any railway grit incurred from transportation, but specifically, what steps should I follow? I will be keeping the car only 3 years (Lease).

I figure a wash, perhaps passing a clay bar, and applyinga a sealant after?

Also, my Facebook has been assualted lately by ads for F11 Top Coat. Is this product worth applying?
Thanks for your opinions.

The dealer will wash and wax (with a very cheap wax that will only last 2-3 weeks) the car. They will likely NOT clay/decontaminate the vehicle, so you should do a physical and chemical decontamination yourself. A good sealant is always a good idea. F11 Top Coat is crap. stay away. You can look into a DIY coating or a pro coating, but since you have no intension of keeping the car more than 3 years, I'd suggest a DIY or entry level coating instead of a pro-coating.
