Dude, the natives burry their loved ones on their land. Just proposing this will cause a riot lol.
It's a fucked up situation they live in. They live on the land the government gave them because it was useless at the time. They have to fight for every inch because if they don't they get fucked. Then they deal with a band council composed of cousins/friends who get money from the government for the residents who heist the money. Nothing is black and white there. They remember how they were treated when the oka crisis happened and Lasalle finest degenerates threw rocks and broke windows in the whiskey trench too. My buddys grandfather had a shotgun pulled by an sq trying to return home from the hospital. You have to see it from their point of view. They are happier without a new bridge.

You can easily bore a tunnel under the st Lawrence from Lasalle without disturbing the Seaway. It's just a question of cost.. I rather see the money put into better regional public transit but there is no doubt a better option than the Mercier is neededNot really a good since it is a huge shipping conduit onto the great lakes. I understand their point though. They would rather less traffic less desperate late idiots doing 260kmh down the 132/138. The land area in and around is mostly low level swampland. . The end of the 730 would work if not for the rapids/islands

Champlain turned out fine... Not everything is doom and gloom just building tunnels is really expensive! They need a better way but keeping in mind Quebec = Snc Lavalin levels of corruption they won't until it fall down. I would think they want to avoid any chance of the sea way or the train bridge being interrupted. Anything is possible with truck loads of money.
Yea they do. They're called TBMs and work fine. It's a bit more complex than just digging a holeIn 2019 they should have huge drills that can dig a tunnel in a couple of weeks.
Yea they do. They're called TBMs and work fine. It's a bit more complex than just digging a hole
Please explain your crack pot method?
