Merci trudeau

That post will sound like pure evil propaganda to most.

I'm wondering where are the 51% that voted for the CPC on MR? I guess it's the Socialist Liberal parade on here right now hahaha
People in Canada voted with their hearts and kept the status quo. I voted CPC but in my riding it was a liberal landslide

Bold move Cotton, let's see how it plays out...

It's 97% Liberal in my riding.

It's for that reason that I won't vote until the popular vote directly determines the winner of the elections. Last time I voted was for the ADQ 'protest vote'.

What is happening tonight further reinforces my position:

Well maybe the conservatives should have been more cooperative during the committee work on electoral reform instead of just parroting referendum or nothing.

That's very democrat of you lol. I wonder if you're going to be singing the same song when it comes to the U.S. perspective in 2020 haha.

Now we see why Justin didn't keep his promise to reform the electoral system...

Well, his rationale at the time wasn't wrong (although very self-serving), Mixed-Proportional would give a larger voice to "fringe" groups/parties. The greens would have a similar (but less) amount of MP's to the Bloc.

hahahaha indeed. I was a moderate Democrat/Liberal in the 90's. Once I started paying tons of taxes, I became a Conservative.

The U.S has the Electoral College. That sort of permanently screws up their 'Democracy'.

The electoral college has the added benefit that the president and senate are generally in agreement. there are countries where the president is elected separately, and it's a whole different dynamic. the government is appointed by the senate, but the president has to approve it. if the senate leans one way and the president another, you got a stalemate that can last for months where basically no laws are passed.

I'd gladly take more "fringe" parties over those amorphous blobs of political parties that try to cater to everybody when campaigning but then force votes right down the party line once they're elected. I'd rather people vote for who they want and what they believe in rather than what they "don't" want.

Wtf is wrong with me

Pas de moi. Pogné ça sur FB d'un gars de l'ouest. Mais résume bien les elections...

Congratulations eastern Canada.

You voted for blackface.

You voted for scandal.

You voted for ethics violations.

You voted for division.

You voted for identity politics.

You voted for fiscal irresponsibility.

You voted for more deficit.

You voted for more debt.

You voted to kill pipelines through the idea of a coalition.

You voted for the further limitation of freedom of speech.

You voted to legitimatize the confiscation of property from people who have done nothing to deserve it (the precedent is staggering and concerning).

You voted to legitimatize the broken promises of the 2015 "Liberal" party.

Eastern Canada, on behalf of the prairies, I declare that, regardless of whether you are family, friends or neither, you are an embarrassment to decency, integrity, respect and honor.

You deserve what you get... and Alberta, and hopefully others, won't tolerate it any longer.
