This reminds me of the commercials I've been hearing lately telling me that I should become an immigration specialist since Canada will be taking in (insert ridiculous number here) immigrants over the next few years.

What's the ratio (approximately) of refugee/asylum seekers to legal immigration where the person(s) won't be a net negative contributor to Canada?

If it was 1/99% I'd have no issue with the matter but I feel as if it's 50/50 at best.

I think it's between 10-20%. Canada accepted almost 30,000 refugees last year (over 30% of the world's total, lol). I'm not really sure if this includes all the illegal border crossings, which probably average 1000-2000 per month.

Total number of immigrants was in the 300,000 range I think. Will double within a few years.
