I'm not surprised, we're all a bunch of hypocrites. A majority of Canadians/Quebecois believe that we should do something about climate change, but a majority also don't want to pay anything towards a carbon tax. The economic principles are simple, if you make something more expensive on the margin people should change their behaviour in order to avoid paying that additional cost, people drive less and buy more fuel efficient cars when the cost of gasoline is higher.

So if you don't want to pay a carbon-tax just change your fucking behaviour, but nope everyone is too entitled to do anything. Just go look at the Greta thread, people running around in circles as if paying the carbon-tax is an inevitable fact of life.

You've got paradigm not even wanting to do a minimum amount of work for his recycling.

The provinces in Canada that have seen reductions in carbon emission are almost all as a result of industry efforts and not individual efforts.

I will pay and shut my mouth forever. I'm not an hypocrite.

agree. but i don't feel like protesting has ever done anything other than anger the people it inconveniences...plus the thousands of idling cars burning tons of gas.

yes, we should all relook at our daily activities and improve. i know i have a long way before i can call myself environmentally conscious. i really feel like these protests and marches do more harm than good.

Good, you're one of the few then.

the protests and "climate actions" all follow the same principles that if people are inconvenienced and forced to think about the issue that is being protested maybe they'll change their behaviour. Whether it's effective or not is entirely debatable.

Why we should pay for climate change?

Hey i throw money away and climate wont change.

I'm all in to pay a tax that will result in better recycling or whatever good for the environement, but we just pay and we do nothing with it.

Like the ''fond vert'' that helped to pay for an electrical fence in Gabon for gorilla...

If we pay here to make a differance, can we use our money in canada please?
