Most people don't even know where the wheel lock is... You expect them to change a spare tire that is prob flat as well because the dealer/garage hasn't checked it ?? Better yet Mercedes that has a different set of lug nuts

The same goes for oil or adding washer fluid... I've had people come in for low washer fluid warnings

true story,

customer sent his genesis in on towing because there was a flashing message in the gauge cluster

3.25 of washer fluid later he was good to go

Different lug nuts length on Mercedes we're back in the days (early 2000-05) when they had thick wheel hub. It's gone now.

Laugh all you want about windshield washer fluid and spare tire changes but unless you're dumping the oil in the sewer like an asshole, it's a PITA. You have to go to the store pick up some oil and filters, come back, jack up the car, drain the oil, hope you don't spill any of it anywhere while you pour it into some kind of extra jug you had to keep lying around because the container you just used to fill is never perfectly empty and then you have to lug said used oil to a drop off point. Instead you can roll into a garage pitch them the key and in less than an hour roll back out with a nice printed sheet that looks good in the service record for when you sell the car.

All this for maybe a $30 premium over the cost of the oil and filters. Unless your making minimum wage, or you really enjoy working on your car, it just doesn't make sense for people to do their own oil even if they know how.

Still lots of them on the road and most Mercedes around here have aftermarket winter wheels.. So a different set of hardware

You don't consider the time to go to garage and wait for the car, it's more than diy.

You can buy 18l at a time and drop off the oil whenever you have to go to Canadian Tire anyways.
