Next gen EV! ID 3, fisker ocean!!, what else?

I'm pretty set on my next car being an EV, my current TDI is good for at least another 3 years, love it, don,t need more than what it gives me and already save a lot in gas compared to most cars, so an EV right now is just not worth the price for me, but I still look at what's coming up!

I see the ID 3 as a great option and all but most cars I see with 400km or more autonomy (because let's not kid ourselves, that's the main selling point for EVs) all cost almost 50k WITH the 13k rebate...

That being said, I keep seeing the fisker Ocean in my facebook feed in various articles and I don't get why anyone is talking about it!?? 500km AND would sell around 37k with the 13k rebate! now this is more like it! I just don't understand why people aren't talking about it more. Am I missing something?

What else is out there and especially, at a more reasonable price! 50k is just not average money, regardless of MR's unique financial situation for most users lol

The problem with EV's is that we already use Electricity for everything else in our lives.

Electricity needs to be produced somehow. We do not have the infrastructure necessary for that. What use will that infrastructure be when we discover portable nuclear energy?

That's why it's simply all a horrible idea.

Hydro Quebec is updating that infrastructure over the next 15-20 years. The dams are due for major legacy work So now is the time.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to offer a package like this. I think it will pay off for them in a big way.

GM was ahead of Toyota with the Volt, and then just gave up for some reason. It wasn't exactly rocket science that if you packaged this kind of tech in a crossover they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lots.

Good power, sub 6 seconds 0-100 so it doesn't feel like you're in the penalty box, good range and overall usability / comfort. It doesn't scream "look at me, I care" either which is nice.

"70" pure EV kilometers should satisfy most people's urban / suburban commute and then you can drive it from coast to coast the next day if you need to. Best of both worlds.

The EV "range anxiety" is a once a month / once in a blue moon kind of thing for most people. I've driven 300km in the past 10 days or so, yet some people think they "need" 400km of "daily" range on a full charge. Because reasons?
