Tire question

So I drive a basic stock SUV. I found some 235/60r16 to go on my truck that kind of give it that off road look. My rims are 16x6j currently has 215/60r16

Will the 235 fit? Thanks.

Yes but larger and a bit taller.

Your speedometer will be 3.4% off. (Slower than reality).

looks like 235 on 6" rims will look like a big bubble, non?

That usually goes on 7.5/8" rims

maybe i'm used to cars sizes

They both are kind of wide for 6" rims. 215 are only 2cm smaller than 235. 215 are already 8.5inch wide.

I have had 235s on a 6inch steel rim. Just looks very fat.

I ran 255/60/15 on a 7 inch rim. Not perfect but it works.

OEM is 215 on my truck

I just went with the quick search results:
https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/charts/tire-width-for-a-wheel-rim-size-chart
https://www.tiresandco.ca/tire-equivalence-advice.html

Now that might just be the "safe" recommendations and there may be room for wiggle, which is probably why 215 fits...but boosting it to 235 might be pushing it (but I have zero experience in this...just going with what I read in 5 minutes online...).

One thing that is for sure is your speed will be affected. When your odometer will show 70, you will actually be going a little faster....so you'll have to be safe around cops.
