So first all the Couche Tard gas stations will begin installing chargers, Petro-Canada already started across Canada, this obviously adds the current infrastructure and VW is bringing there Electrify USA to Canada under Electrify Canada
If you have an electric car, ideally you would park and charge for 10mins which would give you roughly 100kms this is pretty much the rate at which a Fast Charger charges a car at. So you should charge your car enough to get home and finish charging there. Yes for long road trips this in not ideal but not impossible, we are still at the beginning stages of the infrastructure being put in place and it'll require a change of habits. I do close to 30k Kms a year. I'm tired of paying for gas. It equates to 3000$ a year in gas. If I were to go electric it would cost me 240$/year. That's a big difference. In Canada especially Quebec I believe we are more advanced than other places in the world but still behind. Germany and the rest of Europe is making major pushes to change due to emissions credits which is why VW is so heavily involved in the project. I'll keep my gas car but will eventually change to electric cause its just a matter of time.
