California to ban all brand new gas cars by 2035

well it's a goal. if they don't make it, they move the goal post.

i really don't see it as a bad thing; if anything, having a bunch of states, provinces and countries announce an eventual ban on gasoline cars means that they're laying out the future for automotive sales for manufacturers who, in turn, will focus with more intent on electric cars. more investment means :

- cleaner batteries
- more range
- shorter charging times
- cheaper EVs

Won't happen until there is an affordable EV car.

Also, California electricity infrastructure is shit and they have rolling blackouts during heat waves like they have in third world countries.

Now imagine adding +20 million EV charging at night. lol

They need very large pumped storage hydro plants on the grid aide or all houses to have battery capacity with their solar.

There is a huge misconnect between their solar/wind production and demand curves wilhicj creates a dip where they run out of electricity and need coal or hydro or battery to fill. It's called the duck curve

Meanwhile they regularly sell their stored electricity to Arizona
