registering a car from the states (milage)?

hi everyone, was thinking about this the other day. If you want to buy a car that was originally from the US, when you go to register it here, and they ask for the milage, do you give the milage on the dash(in miles) or do you convert the amount in KM and give them that?
what's the protocol?
was curious...

KMs we are metric.

If importing under RIV rules you may need "Odometer in Miles" sticker on the cluster if you can't switch to pass federal inspection along with a metric compliant speedometer
FYI 15 years or older no RIV so 99% less requirements. No federal inspection, just provincial

I meant if a car had already been imported and plated already. If you want to buy it, do you report the milage in miles or kilometres?

I mentioned it just incase it were to come up. But yes the registration of mileage will be done in KMs
