Ask it there because that's where the knowledge is. Go smart trainer or rollers with power meter

Lots of brands to choose from. I have a Kurt Kinetic that is about 10 years old and still works great, save for a slight clicking sound I haven't pinpointed yet.

Mag vs Fluid is where you should do some preference research.

If you have the budget, get a direct drive trainer.

If not, basic trainers and low budget "smart trainer" are basically a regular trainer with cadence and speed csensor.

Magnetic : better for resistance fluctuation and intervals

Fluid : better for road feeling and smoothness

There is also rollers, but you have a "learning curve" to do before being able to do intervals

Edit : Yes you will need a smart trainer, because the smart function with programs gives a lot of motivation. Don't think you'll be motivated enough to just spin in front of a TV, this will not happen. Even if you think you will, you won't. We've all been thru there.

Also a smart system allow you to do intervals more easily and structured training, which is a lot more efficient in terms of fitness, weightloss, etc.
