TAG Heuer / Porsche Racing Team ...(We'll never see it because we screw up everthing)

Folks, the Tag Heuer / Porsche Formula E racing team looks f'ing hot with their upgraded cars . I wish we could see it in this city, but like everything Montreal does mired in corruption, we won't see it. I just want to say this is the coolest racing design I have ever seen .

PS: I support Valerie Plante's decision to cancel Formula E 53 million $ of wasted tax payer funds when every other city got private funds is outrageous. But its too bad, if we did things properly, and didn't block every road, it could have been a hall mark summer event.

I'm confused are you talking about Porsche team or the race that was poorly organized here? Which one is it ? It was never going to be a summer hallmark event such as the Jazz Fest or F1. Formula E has no viewers and a very small following. It's where washed up F1 drivers go!

You can have the race here with the new cars at the F1 track if you cut it off at the casino bridge. I'm not sure I would pay more than 75$ to see it

In Montreal, unfortunately you can't talk about one without talking about the other. Really I am saying I would have liked to see Porsche racing in person.
Forumula E , does have a small following just like electric cars when they first started . It is going to take Elon Musk like innovation, to push things forward, and perhaps graphene batteries

The series has greatly innovated since its inception but the interest just isn't there. It's not a spectacle. You'll need a huge driver to enter the sport to make waves. Otherwise you get washed up F1 drivers and some randoms

Formula E was doomed in Montreal

If Porsche is putting money into it, it must have something?

But BMW and Audi have pulled out, I'm not 100% sure if Porsche took Audi entry. It's not immensely expensive to setup and run a team. I'm unsure what future the series has from a viewership perspective or as a series in general. Especially if F1 goes that route in the coming decade. Given the cost cutting and power unit freeze it's clear Liberty is heading the spectacle route.

With quite a few countries putting in bans for sale of gasoline vehicles by 2035, F1 might go the electric route if the battery tech gets to a level that fits their current racing platform. If that happens, Formula E will just disappear

They can't until 2039. The FIA has agreed not to sanction any electric open-wheel series competing with Formula E until at least 2039.
