California absolutely uses Salt Brine on roads above the snow lines. Seattle banned salt on roads about 10-12 years ago and it's caused havoc on roads when it does snow/get icy. The sand does nothing against ice. Seattle is a hilly city..

Could be worse. Could be the UK where road salt is basically table salt, most smaller roads are below fields which have mud run off. The fine salt gets eveywhere and the mud makes sure it stays there. The corrosion on cars there is way worse vs here. Like way way way worse

Ah? I didn't know they used salt in the southern climates... then again Texas surely could've used some the past few weeks.

Most of the Canadian population lives south of Seattle . Peele Island is almost same latitude as northern CA. It does snow in those places on occasion and they do use salt on the roads. Is it like here? No but they are some what prepared.

You are actually better off parking outside here in the winter vs indoors

Premiere fois je conduit le char neuf a ma blonde je recule direct dans un cable d'acier de retenue de poteau d'hydro, ma blonde était assis à côté. Ca a fait un belle scratch sur le bumper. J'ai jamais accroché un char avant ou après cet évènement

Ma conjointe, première semaine de location de sa Golf 2015, se fait frotté le bas de porte arrière gauche dans le stationnement de son travail. Durant la location elle s'est fait bumper en arrière, brisé le reflecteur arrière droit. Elle était vraiment contente.... NOT

Mon SQ5, 2 jours avant de le transférer à un gars de Rimouski qui l'avait vu juste en photo mais le truck était mint, pas un door ding rien, je l'avais stationné dans la rue pour X raison, rue limite de 30 fak j'ai pas peur des voitures mais j'ai oublié les jeunes en vélo/trottinette/etc..., scratch de poignée dans la porte, j'étais pas content, surtout quand tu dis au gars qu'il est parfait et que tu es obligé d'y dire qu'il ne l'est plus.

La S6 à rien, je la prends pas beaucoup, j'ai reçu une roche dans le pare-brise, c'est réparé. That's it, so far, je touche du bois....

In BC they barely use any salt, mostly on the highway but even then... they stick to lots and lots of sand and gravel lol.

In town they put so little salt that it doesnt stain the inside of your carpets. they use brine mostly. shit is nasty brown.

Here montreal fucks you up with 400% concentration of heavy ass salt and lets it sit there slushy mushy get in the cracks kinda deal. my saint sauveur living 2005 BC car still is nice, my friend has a 2010 rabbit and it sat in montreal slush for his university year and the car is fucked now, it was spotless before he moved down to the city for school from the laurentides.

2021 est une année malchanceuse pour moi. Audi S3 2020 achetée en mars 2020. Rien à signaler jusqu'à la première tempête de neige cet hiver. Sort la voiture de l'allée et la stationne dans la rue le temps de passer la souffleuse. Je m'apprête à finir quand un kid manque sa tentative en WRX de drift et me t-bone. Une journée avant d'aller porter la voiture chez le carrossier, une bétonnière me rentre dedans dans le stationnement lol ostie... Reporte la RV chez le carrossier le temps de faire venir les pièces.

2 semaines après les réparations, impact de caillou sur le parebrise, heureusement ça se répare. 2021, on dirait que tout arrive en même temps.

Moi j'ai acheté une voiture neuve en 2017. Afin d'éviter d'avoir des petites bosses par des coups de portes dans les stationnement, j'avais mȩme ajouté des moulures latérales qu'on ne voit presque plus sur les voitures. Même avec ça, après 3-4 semaines, j'avais déjà 2-3 petites bosses dans les portes. Le monde s'en calissent et ne font pas attention aux voitures des autres, ils ouvrent leur porte dans les autres chars. Maintenant je ne m'attarde plus à ça.

I see the curse is still going. This is the reason I didn't ceramic coat or ppf my car. I'm 95% sure if I do someone will back into it the next day.
