Forget about the RWD for winter especially in St-Sauveur. Carrera 4 should be fine for your wife. Does she need the extra power?

This was my concern

We didn’t need the extra but for resale value they keep a little more their value

And she had a 4s so that’s why I wanna go back with the little extra hp
 
I'm wondering how many people here drove a 911S in the winter.
In a bad bad bad snowstorm and huge snow you will feel a difference, yes. Maybe 10 days / winter ?
Drive one and you will be surprised how well it drives with a good set of winters . If you give people a RWD and tell them is an AWD, 95% will never notice.
All this to say that if you find a 4S get a 4S, but if you really like an S....go for it.
You can tell your wife it's AWD and she will never notice it.
