SUP people (Stand Up Paddle) Aware me plz

I've done SUP like maybe a dozen times and I really never not had fun, it's a good way to get some upper and core work and is relaxing...

What is the situation with inventory for boards this year? If it's anything like bikes it's completely fucked so should I even try and buy a board this year?

I've looked around and best inflatable SUP value seems to be Blackfin Model X but are there other options I should consider?

I assume inflatable is the best option for me. I have a Lexus IS250 with a roof rack so I could in theory get a solid board and spend like 400 bucks on a SUP mount... but then like I'm not saving any money by going solid since my all in cost would be similar when adding the rack.

Also, what's a good budget inflatable? I want to buy my GF a board for her birthday gift so she can join me. So less fancy than the Blackfin Model X but not a POS.

I saw that Costco sometimes has a Body Glove sup on sale is that any good? I'd probably have to snipe it when it comes into stock though.

Also any good spots? I saw some people launching from where Dorval/Pointe Claire meet on the Lakeshore when I was riding my road bike along there a few times... I've been to all the KSF spots before...

Also what's the law on PFDs? I'd likely run one unless I was just in some small ass lake or something, what's a good option for one?

Nous avons un SUP gonflable Costco, je ne suis plus certain du prix payer mais probablement +-500$.

Nous l’avons depuis 2018, traité comme une saloppe, presque toujours en eau salée, jamais rincé, souvent dégonflé plusieurs semaine et jamais eu de problème au regonflage.

Les bads: c’est de l’ouvrage a gonflé et c’est de l’ouvrage en calisse a dégonflé pour faire fitter dans son sac de transport

Ive had one for like 6 years... I plug it in my lighter slot in the car. It never let me down ?
 
Tu dois mettre genre 1 bar de pression, les pompes de velo electrique ne chie pas loin cote volume ET pression.

Nous on le gonfle a la main. Ca donne un 10-15 min de cardio warm up. Vers la fin c est intense mais ca va. Degonfler ca va vite mais pas evident de le rouler dans son sac, un peu comme un sac de tente ou sleeping bag, des fois tu te demandes comment ils ont fait pour le rentrer haha
 
I think in the end I'm just gonna wait for the Body Glove model at Costco to come back in stock and snipe 2 of them, one for me and one for gf.

$1,000 for two boards plus tax and accessories like PFDs is very doable compared to buying the Blackfin... cost of which is more than double.

Spending a G I could use it like half a dozen to a dozen times a year and not feel like it's a waste of money.

The quality difference between the Blackfin and the Body Glove model, although there, is by no means a deal breaker for the BG model at 50% of the price.

The Costco not taking more than 15% margin on things approach reallllly helps with this type of product.

Ma blonde en a deux de la marque Taiga. Ça rentre dans catégorie 'high end'. Un rigide en fibre de verre et un gonflable en rubber (avec des ribs/stringers intégrés qui fait pas la banane).

C'est nice mais pas pour moi. Moi j'aime ça aller me crisser dans les rapides où les endroits ou inévitablement tu vas le maganer. Pis aux prix qu'ils sont mettons tu veux pas les maganer.

J'en ai loué à l'occasion justement lors de road trip, pis j'ai autant de plaisir avec un cheap (en plastique style pelican ou gonflable style body glove), pis oui sont moins 'performant', mais le quart du prix aussi...

À OP qui trouve ça ennuyant. Va t'essayer à aller voir les feux d'artifice sur le fleuve à la pointe de l'ile ste-helene. Tu vas avoir un beau challenge pis un beau spectacle.

En effet ca fait capoter les plotes lol... Toute les fois j'en ai faite et je me promenais dans riviere tu avais les groupes de femmes pis de matante qui m'invitait presque a aller me faire violer par elle sur la plage... lol


Mais sans joke j'aimais vraiment ca en faire dans la riviere dans les spots calme, j'allais au dessus des spot a poisson et je pouvais presque choisir celui que je voulais pogner.

Bought a Blackfin Model X and a Nautical from iROCKER... at least gf's birthday and Xmas are handled lol
