6 Days after Bell appeal to the CRTC their 2019 decision to lower Internet rates for Canadians, the CRTC head was having ex-parte meeting in a bar with Bell future CEO as seen on the picture below reported by court evidences (the meeting on dec 19 had the title - Broadcasting in the lobby registry). In total 11 ex-parte meetings (no witness) were held with large telecom stakeholders according to new evidences in front of the court.
In 2021, CRTC cancel their decision to lower rates even after Federal court of appeal unanimously rejected the appeal claiming it had a 'dubious merit'.
Minister François-Philippe Champagne has the authority to resume 2019 rates for Canadians otherwise rates will start increasing in the country.
