McD 12.5. Drai 8.5. Nurse 9.25? More than Drai????? Oil must know he'll be over ppg next year.

Over 36% of the cap on 3 players. Add rnh and hyman for over 5 million each and that's over 50% for 5 players. Then they'll wonder why the team is a dumpster fire. The 5 will score in bunches and the rest of the team will get scored on even more. Thank God they have Koskinen at 4.5M who's barely a .900sv% goalie, .500 win pct.

With Larsson leaving for Seattle they had to make sure they retained Nurse. Nurse's camp knew this and used it to their advantage. Tack on the Edmonton tax and you begin to sort of understand the contract. I do think that Nurse has more upside than Seth Jones at their respective points in their careers. I also think Nurse will likely be on Team Canada. But yes their goalie situation is a bit of a dumpster fire. There was supposed to be a deal in place for Buffalo to take Koskinen but ultimately Holland couldn't find a good enough replacement to be a tandem with Smith.

Tack on the Edmonton tax
Wat???? wtf you talking about lol! they paid 40% tax, on Taxes Edmonton beat 90% of the teams!

and Nurse is not even close to what Seth Jones was at the same age, NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Nurse is one of the worst signing in history of hockey.

Yeah but according to CuddleJean Edm is a shitty team even with McDavid.

The tax comment is a reference to no one wanting to play in Alberta/Manitoba, and thus those organizations have to pay over and above market value. You are being far too literal.

Seth Jones has been on a steady advanced stats decline. He used to be a strong PP guy with good shot numbers and shot percentages. All three categories have declined consistently since his best season in 2017-2018.

Last year they both averaged over 25 mins of total ice time per game, Nurse had 1.51 pts per 60 games versus Jones' 1.19 pts per 60 games.

To recap, Nurse produces more points AND shots than Jones, despite Jones having more PP time, he out hits Jones, and he has more PK utility than Jones. The big strike against Nurse is his propensity for giveaways. Last year he was -37 in terms of takeaways vs giveaways, while Jones was -23 in the same category.

Edmonton knows what they have in Nurse. If they can work on his giveaways he may turn out to be one of the best all round defense men in the league. Chicago in turn is betting on Jones returning to his 2017-2018 form. Its a gamble.

Hahahaha
