Lol esti l'appuie bras  J'avoue qu'il a l'air directement d'un Impreza 1994
les chiffres au dyno sont quand même un peu décevant, mais le tout à l'air plus linéaire

I was going to come in and post this video!
As always SG does a wonderful job! Engineering explained also has a good video. EE mentioned that peak boost was down to 12 psi from 15.9 (and it would spike a lot higher)
I can speak to the FA20DIT being a bit of a mess. Rev hang was brutal on the 15-19s and the throttle pedal was so twitchy... oh, so you've got me pressed halfway? How about 100% input instead! Wouldn't that be more fun!?
There aren't many modern cars when you can physically feel the differences in temperature / fuel but the Subaru's tuning was so brutal that you would feel it pull timing when it had an "off day". The way the engine would fall flat on it's face in the upper rev range makes the loss of 500rpm a moot point.
I'm sure the new one feels better across the rev range. But the ole jekyll and hide routine the old one would pull was endearing in a way.
The new gen is growing on me! I kinda like the extra .5 inches of ground clearance. 4.9" from the factory didn't give you much room for error once you'd drop the suspension to make up for the wheel gap.
Sure, subaru phoned it in... but there really isn't much in the way of competition in this segment anymore. Less so at that price point.
I get that people wanted more power, but it is adequate for the class. It remains heads and shoulders above it's nearest competitors (1.5T civic SI and Golf GTI). And it can run on 87 octane now!
Not hurting past gen STI owners feelings had to be a part of the equation too.
Looks are still meh and giant ipad on the dashboard is lame. They could have just as easily walked away from the segment so it's nice that they gave us one last "analog" awd entry level sports car.
