Toronto, September 11, 2021 – A nation-wide poll conducted by Forum Research on September 10th among eligible Canadian voters found that People’s Party of Canada (PPC) voters held multiple views that contrasted sharply with the rest of the country.
Vaccines and Vaccine mandates
Polling revealed that 62% of PPC voters had not been partially or fully vaccinated, which contrasts sharply with the rest of the country, as only 17% of Canadians reported having not been partially or fully vaccinated. Similarly, 84% of PPC voters are opposed to mandates which would require people to be vaccinated in order to attend certain public spaces or events. In contrast, only 42% of Conservative, 25% of Green, 20% of Bloc Quebecois, 11% of NDP, and 5% of Liberal voters are opposed to these kinds of mandates.
Self-Perceived Economic Situation
PPC voters were much more likely to report a negative personal economic situation than the rest of the country. When asked, 37% of PPC voters reported their economic situation as “bad” or “very bad.” This contrasted sharply with the national average, where only 21% of Canadians reported their economic situation as “bad” or “very bad.”
Anger with the Federal Government
PPC voters were significantly more likely to be angry with the Federal government’s policy decisions than any other voting group. 70% of PPC voters reported being “very angry” with the policies of the federal government. In contrast, 46% of Conservative, 15% of Bloc Quebecois, 14% of NDP, 10% of Green, and 1% of Liberal voters reported being “very angry” with federal policies.
Abortion
PPC voters were the most likely to be opposed to abortion rights, with 33% saying it should be illegal. 16% of Conservative, 13% of Green, 7% of Liberal, 2% of NDP and 1% of Bloc Quebecois voters shared this view.
Climate Change
PPC voters were the most likely to doubt that climate change is caused by human activity, with 42% saying they do not believe human activity contributes to climate change. This is in sharp contrast to the national average where only 13% of Canadians do not believe that human activity contributes to climate change.
