Missed court date due illness can I do anything

Hi I missed court on a minor municipal infraction.

I had a foot injury , had difficulty rescheduling
As the court is difficult to reach over the phone .

I have a doctors bill from 5 days prior a copy of medication prescription too.

Are there any options?

Tell them it's because your old oil in your engine makes the temperature go higher and you didn't want to risk to blow your engine... and that you prefer to pay the fine than a new engine.

So you had FIVE DAYS to try to call the court house ? You can even leave a voicemail.
