It’s actually growing but yea Irish is somewhat of a dead language in major centres. Most things are bilingual though. Rural areas will still speak it

My friend's mom's cousin's former girlfriend's roomate speaks it. what's the question, he might have the answer.
this is MR, the holy grail of knowledge, you just have too look deep enough.
 
Google Translate does have the option, have no clue if it's accurate.

"Hello my friend" comes up as "Dia duit a chara"
