In 2018 I rented on Turo a 2017 SUV with less than 10 000 km. I decided to sell it but it was not selling. I went on an almost two months trip ( January-February) and a friend was renting his car on turo ( 2013-14 E class). So as I was not "attached to the car" anymore....decided to give it a try. I had issues listing it on Turo at first, as it was to new, and for insurance purposes was not accepted. Had to mark it as a 2015 I think. had to be 2-3-4 years old, in order to be under certain price in their books if I recall.
* first trip was a two day trip ( minimum I had asked), with a guy that wanted to buy that model and it was perfect for him to try it out as most dealer won't even offer it for test drive.
* second was a three day weekend from a guy from US, that was here for a business trip and and wanted a "nice car" .
* third trip was this black guy, that rented it for one week ( as his "Porsche Cayenne is in service") and then another week. After the two weeks , he asked me for another week. I started being suspicious...as it was not cheap to rent it daily (500$). As the car came with an app (and dash cam), I started to watch his trips. Mostly driving at night ( 70%) from 11pm to 4-5 am... ( from his house to Solid Gold and another strip club in that area that i don't remember the name).
Told him I needed the car.

Did not have any issues with any of them. Car was clean when it came back after each trip. But I admit the last guy was weird for me. I did not drive the car anymore, after I saw the strip club trips. lol . Even dropped the price to sell it faster...

I always had wondered since , if they used premium gas as I had asked them to do. ..
MA months later or so I hwas talking to my insurance and somehow mentioene about it and they said it was not inlocuded or soemthing like that . I said but Tuiro has their own insurance, it is not you. if anything happenjns.. hey said , that no, that it is them and I have to let them know. wehen I rent. nSo o check that out and see how it works...maybe it can save yo u a headache

Honestly I just felt like buying 5-6 convertible mustangs and putting them up on Turo

I am reading up on it a lot right now, and I think the best betis to just get 3rd party insurance which will cost more than TURO, but be a safe hassle free bet.

True but with Caravan out of production, and the treatment/beating those type of vehicles will take, I am not really inclined that way.

Theres also no way you can beat 20-25$/day from Discount and UHAUL.

Leisure $ is king
