Hub-centric vs lug-centric wheels

I'm faced with a small issue with the Volvo.

The winter rims that came with the car are lug-centric meaning that the center hole on the rim does not match up properly with the center hub on the car.

As you can see on this photo of my rims, there is about 1/8" between the center hub and the center holes.

This is not recommended:

Soooo...I'm about to spring a few bucks to get new rims that actually fit - although to be honest I'm also toying with the idea of getting some nice aftermarket summer rims, maybe one size up - like 17"s - since the summer tyres on the Volvo are finished and will have to be replaced.

That would mean that I'd just go to my local mechanic and have him fit the winter tyres on the original Volvo rims and then during the winter keep my eyes peeled on any specials on rims, tyres or a combo.

Anyone ever order from 1010tires?

Anyone have any old Volvo rims that fit?

TBH I really like the look of the original Volvo 5 arm rims and since they're very clean I'd hate to ruin them by winter driving them.

I know that someone here had PM me back when I bought the Volvo asking if I was interested in rims but I think he had 18" rims which is probably a bit too big for my taste. Having said that I'll track down the PM and ask him, if the price is right...

get lug centric nuts it's cheaper

I'm thinking I'll order hub centric rings:

I just have to figure out the rim hole dimension. Hub dimension for the S40 is 63.4mm. I need a ruler lol.

I had the same issue with my audi s5 rims. Go to MR muffler and ask for hub centric rings. I got it for about 20$ tax in for 4.

I looked up which adapter i needed but they can measure it for you.

If they are after market rims. They are all the same hub size. They are purposely made larger than all oem rims so they can fit all cars with the use of hub centric rims. I dont remember the exact size. But i THINK. It was 65.5 or something.

So 66.6 hub for Audi dosent fit? What You said make no sens lol. To find out what's the hun size he needs to unmount one of the weel and see what's written on the sticker OR he play the guess game.

I looked up online what size i needed. It was months ago so i dont remember the exact size. Hence why i said i think it was 6.55. Either way he can go to a MR muffler and theyll measure it for him

Not necessarily, but I would have to measure the inside diameter of the center hub hole on the wheel which is likely easier done with the wheel off the car.

The hub size on the car is 63.4mm.

Looking at it it seems to me that it'll probably be around 67mm but I can't guess. I'll measure it out and get some.

It does explain some random shaking I've had at high-speed. Comes and goes.

I think all the P3 Volvo's are 63.4mm and the P1 and P2 are 65.1 mm.
I have a set of new hub rings 65.1-> 63.4 laying around if you are interested.

I was wrong with the P1, P2 classification, the S40 is 63.4 if it's year 04+

T'as 20 studs qui tiennent tes roues.

j'ai eu plein de roue qui était pas hub centric autant sur mes auto que mes truck (ranger, f150) jamais eu de toruble ou vibration causé par ca.

tout mes autos avait des nut/bolt conique standard/oem.
