That would mean that no combination of any 2 parties would be enough for a majority and the Green's would hold the balance of power. That would be freaking hilarious, but the Green's winning 4 is probably a stretch.

Sounds like a very short term...

The average duration of a minority-led government in Canada is 18 months. You know the worst part? You'll probably get exactly the same leaders running because that's not enough time to elect a new leader unless it's an uncontested race and it's someone known by the public.

So a John Baird or Peter McKay for the conservative but they're both too progressive for the current Conservative party, Freeland for the Libs, the NDP is just fucked unless they can convince Rachel Notley or they stick with Jagmeet.

First time in history that a US (former) president openly endorses a candidate in Canada.
Obama pulled this crap in France with Macron. This is borderline interfering because he's using his status and to influence voters. He deserves to have his right to enter Canada revoked for that. It was a huge deal when Harper visited the White House last year. Trudeau definitely would cry on tv if obama endorsed scheer.

AFAIK it's not illegal for a private citizen to publicly endorse a candidate.

Funny how we're holding former presidents to a higher standard than current ones. Trump openly endorsed Boris Johnson when he was running to be PM

Johnson was not publicly elected as PM by citizens. When May stepped down he was appointed by his party. 'running to be PM'? as much as Bernie is running to be the DNC candidate. either way, it would have been a conservative pro-Brexit prime minister so it would all have been the same. no voters would be swayed.
Besides, a Trump endorsement means a loss of votes :D

he is not a private citizen. he can never be one again. he is still 'mr president'. that's how anyone in the USA has to refer to him. he walks around with a complement of agents that are provided by the government from taxpayer money. That makes him a permanent public figure, and anyone worth his salt knows that he should have kept his trap shut.

It's still not illegal. You can't make up imaginary rules and complain that people break them.

Of course Justie will receive endorsements from the whole islamist world after taking in thousands of terror... migrants I mean. That means thousands of votes for him and his twins the insurance salesman and the towelhead.

it's not illegal. it's unethical. we have recently seen another case of (different) unethical behavior. but it's Obama and he can do no wrong.
and nobody will revoke anyone's right to anything :)

It's unethical how? There is no rule that says it's wrong for an ex president to publicly support a candidate with a tweet.

On the other hand, it's universally recognized that a head of state that uses his powers to direct taxpayer money into his own pockets is more than just unethical. It's called corruption.

and nobody will revoke anyone's right to anything :)
So why mention it then?
