Porsche GT3 brake ducts.
so i was looking in a way to have some cooling done to the front brakes. i was looking for the TT-RS ducts but ECS sells them for 75$ a pop plus hardware pretty expensive for some wind deflectors...
i saw someone on a thread talking about GT3 brake duct but never gave an answer if they fit or not since he was just brainstorming on ideas. i tought to myself...Porsche...GT3...$$$$$....turns out no not really. i almost fainted when the guy on the phone at the Porsche dealer told me the price for the set.. 10.20$ CDN taxe included... that's cheaper than a bigmac trio.. so i bought a set and told myself that if they dont fit it's no big deal for 10$.

Part Number Left scoop : 99734148392
at my surprise they fit much better than expected!
since they are pretty big and pretty much cover all the front of the control arm i test fitted them on the car before fitting them on my aluminum control arm that i have on a shelf waiting to be installed.
not bad for initial testing, they dont touch the balljoint, the brakes, the sway bar or the headlight sensor. and they shoot air straight on the caliper/pads section so perfect for cooling.
ground clearance on a
NOT LOWERED CAR. see how the fins will scoop the air from underneath.
initial fitting on the passat control arm with no trimming.
all fitted. the ducts are made to clip around the Porsche control arm, but since ours are much bigger the clip aren't really useful so i used tie-wrap for the moment. it's holding solid as is.
i did some trimming over there for the scoop to fit more flush to the control arm.
so that's it. for 10$ you get some big ass scoop for cooling. i will not install them on the car right now as it is winter over here and even tho they are cheap, i dont fell like breaking them once a week.
this might not work on a slammed car either as they sit lower to the rest of the car even on stock height.
