Some would argue the shows are all the same, the cars are all the same and there is an over saturation of the market with meets & events. Those who’d argue that would be changing their minds if they attended Eurokracy 2013, held today at Napierville Dragway.

Back for its third edition, the annual Eurokracy show moved to the bigger venue that Napierville provided to bring a product like no other to the Canadian scene. With NHRA approved 1/4 mile drag racing, burnout competitions, show & shine and a closed circuit low car competition called The Neckbreaker, it kept spectators entertained all day long.

Over the last 16 years I’ve attended a lot of shows. I’ve been to so many shows, there isn’t much that impresses me or surprises me anymore. Today, I was impressed. Eurokracy is the kind of event that sets the bar higher for others to follow. The vibe at the euro/stance themed show was more than you’d get at any other event with a parking lot full of cars. Since there is a common theme, I feel there is very little hate between the competitors. The cool thing is that there were many many non-Euro vehicles, demonstrating the crossover appeal of the fad called stance.

The Neckbreaker competition is unique to this event. It’s like car limbo with an added twist of having to go over speed bumps after. While a tad long to get started, it made for a different and unique thing to watch compared to just racing and burnouts.

With many vehicles from out of province and even out of country, it’s obvious that Eurokracy has put the Montreal scene back on top in terms of being a haven for car enthusiasts, particularly the Euro crowd.

View the discussion thread and recap here: http://montrealracing.com/forums/showthread.php?849457

[nggallery id=100]Montreal, June 29, 2013 – Some people say the car scene isn’t what it used to be.
