Car Fever Never Ceases to Impress

Car Fever has been the pinnacle of tuner shows in the province of Quebec for fifteen years running. That makes it the longest running sport compact/tuner show in the province and likely even all of Canada.

Every year, the entire tuner scene descends on Napierville Dragway to reinvigorate itself. When we arrived at 9:15 AM there was a huge lineup of vehicles stretching back to the highway. When we left at 1:30PM, the lineup was even bigger!

Car Fever’s history gives it a certain prestige that draws people to the event. It seems to be the only show that can successfully bring out crews from across the province to compete against one another.

The evolution of the scene was also readily apparent at the show. It used to be that clubs like Civic Quebec or Mustang Quebec would be the largest in terms of presence but not anymore. People have formed their own crews based not on the type of vehicle they own but rather their plain passion for modified cars amongst friends. Crews such as 2Lo, High Society, So Clean, Ladies on Wheels, Certified Sick, Low Level, Royal Freshness, Street Nation, El Familia and many more simply stole the show. The crews based on the brand of vehicle still exist but aren’t as prevalent anymore.

There will always be people who hate on shows and hate on other people’s cars but they are equally as irrelevant. They can stay at home on a sunny Saturday afternoon while the rest of us celebrate our passion.

Tuning isn’t dead, far from it. Yesterday’s show proves that beyond any doubt.
