German drive Harald Müller has broken the Guiness world record for longest drift using a Toyota GT-86.
The previous record was set over a year ago by Johan Schwartz in a BMW M5 who drifted for 82.52 kilometres. Müller drifted for 144.126 km.
The drift took place on an oval track in Samsun, Turley on July 15th. It took 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes to complete.
What is interesting is that we can see the vehicle is not engaged in a continuous drift the whole time. Furthermore the pavement was wet so make of it what you will Guinness is satisfied.
