The Fisker Galpin Auto Sports 725HP Mustang Rocket

Henrik Fisker and California-based Galpin Auto Sports have teamed up to build one heck of a car: a 725 horsepower, carbon fiber Ford Mustang.

nveiled as a concept at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the car officially debuted at the Amelia Island Concours d’élégance in Florida on March 13.

“Amelia Island is the perfect venue for this debut,” described Beau Boeckmann, President of Galpin Motors, in the release,”as it draws an eclectic group of passionate automotive enthusiasts from around the world into one picturesque central location that celebrates the automobile.”

Every panel on the car has been replaced with lightweight carbon fiber, saving roughly 70 pounds. Not only that, the exterior lines the Mustang have been modified to give it a much meaner look including a massive front grille à la Aston Martin, widebody treatment and a beefier rear spoiler.

Each base vehicle starts with the standard Mustang performance pack including Brembo Brakes, a Torsen LSD, unique bushings, monotube rear dampers, additional engine-cooling capacity, a thicker rear anti-roll bar, a K-brace under the hood and upgraded ABS settings.

Under the hood, GAS reworks the stock 5.0-litre Coyote V8 and if the option Whipple supercharger is added, the total output is 725 horsepower.

The interior seat upholstery is swapped in favor of high-end Italian leather and even the dash gets hand-stitched treatment along with carbon fiber gauges.

Production will be limited and pricing is set to start at $109,100 and rising to $137,095 when all the options are ordered.  Capacity is said to be about 150 vehicles per year.
