Ordinarily we get some idea of when a manufacturer will unveil the next iteration of a popular model but not in the case of the next generation Honda Civic.
Honda surprised everyone by unveiling the concept car at this year’s New York Auto Show.
Clad in lime green, the new Civic will be immediately recognized as such but with much more aggressive lines than the current model.
Honda also said the company plans to bring an actual Type R version to North America in the press release:
With a sharper focus on spirited performance and class-leading versatility, the new Civic lineup will include Civic Sedan, Coupe and Si models along with the return of the Civic hatchback, followed by the launch of a new Civic Type-R as the performance flagship of the Civic lineup.
We can’t wait to see what the new Type R will look like and pack under the hood but we’ll have the info for you as soon as it’s available.
