New GT-R pricings... WTF!

guys...remember how marked up the viper was when it was introduced...this is normal, the price will come down as the hype cools off.

I give it three months. GTR is supposed to scoop up M3 and RS4 owners, not Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Carrera S ones.

if you REALLY want one of the first that hit North America, get ready to dish up to $129,000 for one...US MSRP is $69,000.
The exact same thing happened when the Lancer Evolution first came to America in 2003. The MSRP for an '03 Evo VIII was $29,500 base price or around $31,000 fully loaded. Dealers were selling them for $55,000. A few idiots bought them at that price just to get the title of "the first assclown in America with an Evo." Within a few months, you could buy them for $32,000. About a year later, you could get one for $500 over list.

It's just hype right now. With so few cars coming in, every dealer only gets 1 or 2 in stock. So, they slap on a massive price tag and stick it in the front of the gallery. It's more valuable to them as a way to bring customers into the store, some of whom might eventually walk away with a "regular" Nissan. And if some jackass is actually willing to pay 2X the MSRP for the car well then, hey, that's OK too.

Does anyone read this thread before they post?

THE MSRP IS $69,000US, BUT DEALERS ARE MARKING IT UP TO $129,000US TO BE ABLE TO OWN THE FIRST ONES!

It's not $129k CDN, and the price of the car isn't $129k US, it's just if you really want one come June or whatever, you're gonna have to pay to play. Otherwise you wait.

Erm... that's what a 997TT will cost after 4 years. I am thinking 90-100 because that would mean about 100-110K USD. No way they will price the car over that.
