Please Solve the following:
48/2(x+3)=2
48/2(x+3)=288
Write how you got to x .
oh wow :laugh:problem?
This is absolutely hilarious.
My 6th grade son came home with this math problem and I posted it on my facebook page. 5 friends posted it on their pages and now it is around the world. My original post was 9pm central time on 4-6-2011. For what it's worth I said 2 and the 2 engineers I work with agree.
48/2(x+3)=288
(x+3) = 288*(2/48)
x+3 = 288*0.416666666
x+3 = 12
x = 12-3
x = 9
so, 48/2(9+3)=288
doesnt fuckin matter what programs, internet, calculator says. That is why when you program you make sure you put () and brackets everywhere as to not confuse the program and falsify results.
Whatever electronic you are using will give different results depending on how it was programmed.
Mathematically speaking, on paper, its very freakin simple.
48÷2(9+3) is the same as 48÷(2x9+2x3).
Do the math from there.
Why in gods name would anyone think 48÷2(9+3) is the same as (48÷2)(9+3) is beyond me.
