For the money I would go for an Audi. Same tuning potential, engine is VERY solid, you get AWD and the car is very practical. Has torque for a DD and power for when you need it. I pulled against tons of Civic SIs and they can barely do anything by revving the shit out of themselves while I stay very relaxed and don't even have to exceed 5000rpm ever.

between the 2, for a DD, the GTI....easy power gains if chipped, it's just more practical and has a much nicer interior. The SI is probably a more fun car to drive.
