How you define a luxury car...

How do you like your luxury ?

By price? For example : more than 100 000$, 200 000$ car ,etc
By brand? Mazda , Audi , Porsche
By model? Audi A3 vs. Audi S8

It's probably very hard to define, because as we can see , there are people that call a CX-9 a luxury SUV, others call an X5 a luxury SUV and others call the Range Rover a luxury SUV.
What's your criteria? Is it all about the brand? The technology? Features? Price? Heritage?

Luxury is relative to what your income is. For the MR ballers, luxury is a Bentley Bentayga. For the less fortunate of us, Luxury might be a fully loaded Golf R.

To be honest, any car has almost the same features than the one next to it. It all comes down to the taste of the individual that buys it.

as mentioned before by someone else, everyone has their own taste...

I do consider a 50k CX-9 Signature as a luxury car
I do NOT consider a base Cayenne/Macan/Evoque with no Xenons/Navi/17inch wheels a luxury car... I consider that an idiot that has money's car

I think the order for luxury is :
Options
Looks

so for example, a 320xi with no options versus a fully loaded Honda Accord Touring = Honda Accord is the luxury car in my books
 
I would never call any Honda luxury, even the most expensive Pilot.

For me its the brand mostly, even though there are less options.

A base Cayenne will outperform a loaded cx9 in every aspect... performance, luxury and convenience. A cx9 look good but it's underpowered and it's a value brand. Value is the opposite of luxury.

Audi, bmw, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, acura are all luxury brands. Some brands share the same platform but the luxury division is more upscale.

La qualité et la marque. Il y a quelques années la marque était gage de qualité en automobile mais aujourd'hui par exemple une CLA250 c'est loin d'être une voiture luxueuse.
 
Pour moi c'est quand les options offerts handicape fortement les performances
A la limite une Accord peut etre un luxury car, je pense pas que ce soit le prix ou la marque qui determine si le char est luxueux ou non

Donc un Santa Fe full equip c'est luxueux ou une dodge caravan?
 
il y a une difference entre une voiture DE LUXE et une voiture LUXUEUSE
voiture de luxe c'est une question de marque en premier, du modele dans la marque ensuite et par exception des fois un modele distinct dans une marque consideree inferieuse exemple Cadillac une Catera n'etait pas une voiture de luxe mais ca restait une voiture luxueuse

voiture luxueuse = version habillee d'un modele commun

mais comme Alain dit, il a une différence entre une voiture de luxe et luxueuse
 
POur moi cest vaiment une question de modele.
Exemple, je ne considere pas vw comme synonyme avec luxueux, mais la phaeton, je considere ca un vehicule de luxe/luxueux, pas mal plus quune a4 de base...
 
Luxury is low Db level, no road noise, quiet suspension.. etc, the are a level of luxury, but not necessarily a even hyundai has lots of options but not a luxury brand
