Giving myself a headache reading and re-reading sites to try and determine what GPU to throw in.
Looking to do some video editing and my current on-board can definitely not handle that task.
Don't need capture, as that is what this upgrade is meant to fix -- have a Hauppauge unit sitting basically idle.
Not looking to break the bank as this endeavor was supposed to be a "fun side thing" only.
Board is a ASUS M3A78-EM
Means PCIe 2.0x --- but seeing as most all are backwards compatible
Can be 2-slot or 1 - as have no space issues in set-up atm.
Power was just recently upgraded to a 550 psu and hopefully should be fine -- powering atm 4 HDs (soon to be 3 -- need to clean it out and toss it elsewhere), 1 DVD-RW, and 1 USB device (until I get off my lazy butt and get a usb-dc converter (PX5 headphones)) and SB audio card.
So asking for advice/opinions;

EVGA vs PNY vs MSI vs ....... ??
