We have a 2016 Pathfinder, I hate it but we had no choice but to get it at the time as we added twins to the family a few years ago which made it 3 kids total. The Rogue we had at the time couldn't take a 3rd car seat in the middle so as we were on a lease we had no choice but to get a Pathfinder. Fortunately the lease is up in just over a year.
The main reason I hate it is the crappy mileage and the problem is it seems to be getting worse, we only have 40,000 km on it.
We do pretty much all city driving, lots of stop and go but this has always been the case. This vehicle is so bad on gas, we're getting 22-23 l/100 km right now when it was in the 17-18 L/100km range in the past. A full tank of gas is getting to just 300km and change these days. Is there something wrong? Tire pressure is fine, I changed the air filter back in the spring as well as new rear pads and discs in the spring as well. I do need to change the cabin filter but I can't see that having an effect. Yes, the dial is on 2WD. Tire pressure is typically between 33-35 PSI should I increase it? I don't gun it when accelerating and I don't slam on the brakes at the last second. It's a friggin heavy car, I enjoy the ride on the highway but as I said we do 90% city. The shitty CVT transmission probably doesn't help from what I've read. I'm counting down the days to when I get rid of it.
Any thoughts?
