The "good" news is that these will be Category 1 storms on the Saffir-Simpson scale. So although they will get a shitload of rain and potential mud slides, damage should be somewhat minimal to homes and infrastructure. Low lying areas will get flooded though. Category 3-4-5 there is usually significant to catastrophic damage and are very bad news ; Cayman got a Category 5 in 2004 and 80% of homes had significant damage (yes 80%). Any hurricane is bad news, but a Category 1 is 10000x better than a category 5.

Ça fera pas de gros dommage, j'étais en floride sur la côte quand katrina a tombé en 2005 pi a 60 mph y se passe pas grand chose.... on avait pogner des rafale de 90 mph et la le bardeau commençais a décoller. À partir de 100 mph la tu peux commencer a chier dans tes culottes...
