Status update - project stalled while I hunt down a "a" ecu plug (as well as ecu, but I technically only need the computer once the engine is physically installed, whereas wiring is way easier with the motor outside... On vacation right now, but I should have a Wally 255 and the Twos'R'Us "boost-up kit 3" waiting for me once I return... Hopefully I can find that plug too, that way I can have her running in the first half of june! (exhaust optional) :D If anyone wants some parts off the rear drivetrain I bought (i.e. calipers, the old rotors, turbo axle outer shafts, shocks, etc) or the old 4A/C52, shoot me a message! Otherwise I'll just turn the old block into a coffee table or something lol

Don't think so - N/A MR2's never came with LSD as far as I know

UPDATE:

Engine should be going in this weekend, with some luck!
Was working on dropping the fuel tank earlier, turns out a hornet decided to make my engine bay his new pad. Little SOB scared the fuck out of me lol. On a related tangent, I've been googling, but I'm not sure how's the best way to disconnect the fuel lines from the tank (since cutting an access hatch in the center tunnel won't work - I thought about cutting the metal lines and using fuel-injection hose to put back together, but I don't think that would be terribly reliable, and dont want to fuck around with that).

Other thing, is anyone handy with this swap? I'm sort of apprehensive about tackling the wiring (& welding, to a lesser degree, if anyone has a jig I could borrow it would make life much easier).

Update - Been working a LOT lately so the project kind of stalled (I mean, when the weather's good, I'm at work, when it's pouring rain or night is when I'm home... occasionally) :(

BUT

Since I was working so much, I decided to do something pretty nuts...
Bought a SECOND '89 MR2 N/A, also in red, also with T-tops :p
Looks like shit, IMO, but she runs great, perfect for a DD/winter beater/rallying car.
Slower than my Camry by a LOT, but stupid fun!

I was looking at this car a week ago :p had no front lip and looked pretty rusty around the arches, so I told myself must be freakin' rusty under those side skirts! No way I'm going through that crap again haha! :p Too many two's in the yard anyways lol :p At least you paid it cheap and looks to have some good parts for your project car! But it shouldn't be THAT slow though... maybe needs a good tune up? My NA was actually not that bad, really not as fast as my silvertop, but not that bad either. Try to get a 0-60 time with it. Should get at least 9-10 seconds since the car is starting to get pretty old now.

well, I'm used to riding around in a 3VZ/E53 Camry :p pretty quick compared to the NA. Havent timed it, but 9-10 seconds sounds about right (also fairly slow, IMO, I think my dad's autobox Tucson runs the 0-60 quicker). Car's actually not in to bad shape. could use some bodywork, but like I said, for a beater/winter hoonmobile, it's pretty darn good! :p

Update - Fuel-pump was swapped, big props to mazderp for helping me out - took us 4 hours, otherwise would've taken me like 8-10.

One of my axles was missing the bearing carrier, so I had it rebuilt. $120 well spent!

Old mounts were cut out (massive pita).

And today new mounts go in if all goes well! :D after that, only wiring!

Update - wiring done. Fuel system is hooked up. Just need to properly bolt in axles, hook up coolant/vac systems, and the clutch, and she'll be running (hopefully). Albeit with an open downpipe xD
