Sweet cars, I looooove older cars, but damn have we come along way today, I mean the new M5, S6/RS6 and E63 are in a whole other world then these.
 
My old man had a Purple E34 on Throwing Stars 'til the day he died, he loved that car ...

Too many electronics and driving aids make the newer cars very boring to drive, even if you compare the E39 M5 to the E60, the old M5 was a lot more fun ...
 
seriously, I wouldn't know which to choose. I have a secret love for the S4 and it's 5cyl turbo, the M5 is just classic M-power everywhere, and the 500E with the nice V8 is just such a monster!

I think I'd fall for the Merc.. :)
 
E34 M5s were all hand built by one person over a period of around 2 weeks. The engine is also a work of art, Pure M

It's sad that BMW can't look into the past for inspiration...
