i thought about that but your missing some info.
 
your teacher is right, you can definitely calculate the P value without the alpha level.

you just can't conclude to either reject or accpet the null hypothesis.

btw what chapter are you on?
 
were on chapter 12 or 13 I cannot remember we are on the before last chapter
only 2 classes left
