    Matt's '08 VW GTI Front Mount Intercooler by Rawtek

    Date: Feb. 26th, 2009



    Car: 2008 VW Golf GTI



    The Job: Custom front mount intercooler and piping. Remove OEM interccolerm (in between A/C condensre and radaitor).



    The Problem: Volkswagen mounts the OEM intercooler to the frame of the car and everything else mounts to the intercooler.



    The Solution: We built a custom interccoler replacement bracket that takes the place of the OEM intercooler and moves the A/C condenser and radiator forward about a 1/2" to alow more room for the intercooler piping to pass.



    The Results: +3 PSI of boost in the manifold!!!

    Very tight setup. Finished product looks very clean!
    Do you guys do aluminum exhaust (using aluminum piping)?

    If you mean aluminum "interccoler" piping then yes we do. However we preffer stainless especialy on this setup where the piping to the throttle body passes right up behind the rad fans. Stainless piping transfers heat slower so this way we can keep the air going into the motor a little cooler.

    no i'm looking for aluminum cat back. or simply the cat to axle back section. 2.5" mandrel bent.
