hello, i'm thinking of maybe buying this car (from the states) and i was just wondering if there are any good value for the money engine mods for it? i'd prefer to spend max $3,000 total. buying used is an option.

what would be in this range tho? i found the following combo to increase power from 400 to 572hp, but how much is it? it says that the heads+valve springs alone are almost $2400.

AFR 205 HEADS, FAST 90MM INTAKE, 1 7/8-INCH LONG-TUBE HEADERS, COMP CAMSHAFT

from this site: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0611phr_ls2_modification/index.html

would it be a good idea to use race headers with no cat and a stock exhaust? i don't know much about american engines...

Why would u wanna modifie it.....if ur looking not to spend money just get a catback!!! Their pretty fast stock!!!

just wanted to know if there are any cheap mods that give it a lot of hp. how much hp from a test pipe + exhaust? i found online that with a race header on an engine dyno it makes 472hp!!

Well honeslty any mods u do on an engine are going to be expensive!!!! U were saying that heads pakege was ~2500$ but instalation will cost u!!!

What about nitrous.....??? Get a 100shot and call it a day!!!

Nitrous would be the fastest way to gain power, a nice 75 shot on a V8 is safe, call us, we'll help you out.

Happy tunning

what will you do with the car?

For drag racing nitrous is pretty much the best HP/$$ you can get.
If it's a street car only and you're looking for power that'll be available all the time, I'd be looking at some bolt-ons first.
Headers/exhaust, cold air intake, tune, etc...

Something like that:

it would be a street-only, daily driven car. would i have issues with police if i get an exhaust or is this less of a problem for V8 cars?

It's less of a problem with a big sedan, unless you drive like a complete retard.
Most popular exhaust systems have mufflers and resonators, so it's really not THAT bad. Listen to videos of modded V's on youtube and see what kind of exhaust sound you like.

Headers, intake, exhaust... you'll get about 440hp... after you can go with heads/cams package will make you arround the 550hp when tuned.

It came complete from Corsa. Complete catback system with x-pipe (for me). I paid 1495$ plus install. It's an easy bolt on. It's expensive but worth every penny. It's not too loud so you don't bother your neighborhood. I also put a CAI.

If you want to change the Intake/trottle body package, I have a 1 race used kit. We are changing our package this season, so for sale. Might also have a cam.

LS2 motors respond well to Cat back systems with X pipe setup.CAI is a good start also.1.8 rocker will require a retune for sure.As for cams well the heads must be removed to do the job.Is the car stick or automatic. A reprogram of the ECU and TCM should be done to fully enjoy this car.
