SPEEDING ticket in new york

On my way back from new york i got pulled over on hwy 87 and got a speeding ticket of 82 mph (132kmh) in a 65mph (105kmh) zone . I have to plea guilty or not guilty and send it back then they will send me the ticket.I had the cruze control set on at 120kmh and i never drive over 120kmh .If i plea guilty they will send me a ticket for 132kmh when i was doing 120 and if i say not guilty i will have to go back to Lake Champlain new york to go in court. Any suggestions what i should do !!!!! what if i just ignore and and never pay it is this a good idea since i almost never go in the state ??

New York a pas un contrat de reciprocité avec le Québec? je dis ca, j'ai pas checké

Ils veulent nous faire chier avec leur reprocité, la logique voudrait que la cause puisse être transféré au Québec.

SUIVI DES CONTRAVENTIONS

5.1 Lorsqu'un résident de l'autre administration n'acquitte pas, dans un délai de 30 jours, une amende imposée à la suite d'une infraction visée aux sous-paragraphes 3.1.2 ou 3.1.3 pour laquelle une déclaration de culpabilité a été rendue, l'administration où l'infraction a été commise avise dans les meilleurs délais l'administration de résidence.

5.2 Sur réception de l'avis prévu au paragraphe 5.1, l'administration de résidence informe le conducteur que son droit de conduire est ou sera suspendu dans l'autre administration jusqu'à ce que celui-ci ait satisfait aux exigences du billet d'infraction.

Pour le ticket, si tu plaides coupable, le juge du comté où t'as reçu ton ticket va déterminer le montant de l'amende en question (ils on une bracket de montants qu'ils peuvent donner selon l'infraction). Ensuite tu vas recevoir le ticket avec le montant décidé. Tu communiques avec eux pour le paiment (i.e. carte de crédit).

Dans mon cas les points n'avaient pas été appliqués au Québec et j'avais reçu l'amende minimale (de 130$-180$ US si j'me souviens bien). C'était pour la même vitesse btw.

Si tu plaides non coupable c'est quoi ta défense?

1) Cost ot the ticket around $ 175 uscy + demerit points transfered to saak as
is the infraction was committed in Q.

2) Next time buy a medium quality rd , it is legal to use in NY.

3) Attorney would rarely cost below $ 400 uscy , and rarely save your case.

Was the speed acquired by laser or radar ? Just so you learn that rd is useless
against laser .

if you dont pay and they ever catch you for speeding again in NY state, they can impound your car on the spot.

on the other hand, if you pay for the ticket, the points will transfer over to SAAQ because quebec has an agreement with NY state.
