Mini-box DCDC-USB. Has anybody used one of these? Need help setting it up

I bought this to power a tablet in my car.

I've email mini-box a few times. They're too damn slow to respond.

Anybody who has used this can give me a step by step guide? (their online manual is garbage and incomplete)

Edit* need specific guide to setting automotive mode with 5.3v

Why do you need this ? Regular 12V charger can do the job.

Just be sure to have at least a 2.1amp version.

My nexus 7 needs over 5 volts and these seem to be the most reliable to go along with my HUB + all other stuff. I have it already anyway

All USB connectors carry 5V... it's the amperage draw that differs from device to device....

Nexus 7 2013 and hp touchpad require overvolting (i own both) which is why their OEM chargers are 5.2v and 5.3v. They dont reliably charge with just 5.0v.

2012 nexus 7 has 5v charger which gave problems, so for 2013 they changed to 5.2v. I had nexus 2012 and it was not reliable until i used touchpad or 2013 nexus chargers

je pense pas que tu peux faire une sortie USB a voltage variable avec ca , ca serait trop dangereux et le fabriquant doit se proteger contre les ti clins qui bousteraient ca pour ensuite se plaindre au fabriquant que son appareil branche sur le USB ne fonctionne plus

J'sais pas si t'as lu la description de produit mais ca semble etre exactement ca l'utilité de cette bebelle-là, entre autre..

je vois des fils pour POWER IN
je vois des fils pour POWER OUT
et je vois un USB pour la programmation

edit: je vois aussi le 4 fils traditionnels pour alimenter le CPU d'un motherboard

OK, et? C'est ecris specifiquement que le output est ajustable de 5 à 24v...

Output is 12V regulated or output can be changed with simple jumper settings to 5V, 6V, 9V, 12V, 13.5V, 18V or 24V or via USB in fine increments (0.25V) anywhere from 5-24V.

Ah ok j'viens de catcher ce que tu voulais dire j'avais mal saisi.

En effet t'a raison c'est pas le usb qui output le courant.

Si c'est de ca que OP avait besoin j'pense qui peut retourner son achat lol

il doit etre possible de prendre un fil de RALLONGE USB (donc connecteur femelle ) le couper et splicer les bonnes pines de courant sur le output du board
ensuite tu prends le software et l'ajuste pour avoir son 5.2 V de sortie

oh its 55$, pretty expansive. The enclosure is three fiddy tho

yes the wires are already done. It's just the stupid configuration.

Mini-box has no phone #, only email.

Id anybody wants to buy this for 40$ PM me lol. I'll use something else if they don't get back to me.


**and no cigarette lighter/chargers don't provide 5.2V-5.3V. They will not properly charge the tablet while using, GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi etc.*** It must be 5.2v or 5.3v to overcome the resistance from the cables.
