Check out on their site, I'm speechless

The engine was introduced for the 2011 season, following the ACO’s decision to mandate production based engines for the LMP2 category. We chose the BMW S65 4,0 litre V8 as our base engine (fitted to the M3 at the time) as it was available, reasonably priced and had a high specific output in roadcar form. We sourced the cylinder block and heads from our local BMW dealer and set about converting the engine for racing use. Cars fitted with the HK engine won races & championships in the LMP2 category in Europe and Asia.

Damn !

but - 5000km rebuild interval also DAM!
BeCuz race engine bruh1!1!!!

Most race engines are 30-35hours for a competitive environment. Top Fuel and Funny Car are every 3-7 seconds haaa

I posted these prices last year
A competitive JUDD motor will go for about 3000kms before a rebuild is needed. Here are some prices to put how much these cars cost to run if you do find a rolling chassis.. Here are prices for having a Judd fitted:

Here are prices for having a JUDD engine installed.
Demo use, low speeds: Total £130k. With 3.5L JUDD engine and ECU
Competitive race ready: Total £210k. With 4.0L JUDD engine and ECU
Podium car in BOSS series: Total £235k. With 5.0L JUDD engine and ECU

Those were for Formula engines in older F1 cars etc. Guys who have old Champcars or Indy car use LS based power plants, cheaper and they fit. There was someone still running the old Renault V10 in a Benetton B195, he had 2... The rebuild costs were in the stratosphere, then the car had a pretty bad accident those repair costs were in another galaxy. The owner managed find a tub from a museum but only was allowed to purchase it if he repaired his damaged tub and reassembled the museum car + shipping.

Nice engine but the LMP2 S65 M3 based engine was quite unreliable at first, at LM24 in 2011 or 2012 they had so many failures due to the blocks being porous / cracking / leaking.

The other pure race engines from Judd are really nice, a lot of them powering old F1 cars where the original engines were leased and the parts are no longer available (Renault, Honda, Mercedes engines of that era), but super expensive obviously :)
